Phoebe Rankin, LCSW-S, providing compassionate, trauma-informed therapy and clinical supervision.

Hi, I’m Phoebe.

Therapy should feel human.

I believe therapy works best when it feels human, collaborative, and occasionally includes a well-timed reality check.

My role isn't to tell you who you should be or hand you a list of coping skills and send you on your way. It's to get to know you as a whole person—your experiences, your relationships, the patterns you've learned to survive, and the ways those same patterns may now be keeping you stuck.

Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy is a place where we can slow down together and make sense of what's happening beneath the surface.

What it's like to work with me?

My style is warm, relational, and collaborative. I value authenticity, curiosity, and honesty, and I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without worrying about saying the "right" thing.

I believe meaningful change happens when we understand why we do what we do. Together we'll explore the stories you've been carrying, the survival strategies you've developed, and whether those strategies are still serving the life you want to build today.

I'll meet you with compassion, but I'm also not afraid to gently point out patterns you may not notice yourself. Sometimes therapy means sitting with difficult emotions. Sometimes it means celebrating growth you didn't realize you'd made. And sometimes it means laughing together, because healing doesn't have to be serious all of the time.

My Approach

Every client's story is different, so I don't believe therapy should follow a script.

My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and draws from approaches including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and experiential interventions. Rather than trying to fit you into one model, I tailor therapy to your goals, experiences, and the way your brain works.

Whether you're processing trauma, navigating life transitions, exploring identity, or untangling long-standing relationship patterns, we'll work together to create meaningful and lasting change.

I may be a good fit for you if...
  • You're ready to understand yourself—not just manage symptoms.

  • You're neurodivergent (or exploring whether you might be) and want therapy that honors how your brain works instead of trying to change who you are.

  • You're looking for an LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapist who welcomes every part of your identity.

  • You appreciate a therapist who is warm, collaborative, and willing to gently challenge you when you're feeling stuck.

  • You're curious about how your past experiences continue to shape your present.

  • You're ready to build a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned with who you are.

A few things you should know...

I work with adolescents (14+) and adults and have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and identity exploration. I'm especially passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, people who were diagnosed with ADHD or autism later in life, and anyone learning to untangle survival strategies that once protected them but no longer serve them.

Above all else, I believe healing isn't about fixing yourself. It's about understanding yourself with enough compassion that you have more freedom, more choice, and more room to become the person you've always been underneath the survival.
